How do we innovate on a legacy system that takes years to change and update and how do we design a UI system that is geared for the future yet hold the brand legacy that is BMW?

Schematic partnered with BMW to help bring their car of the future with an updated UI interface for their i3 EV series. There were many internal and external challenges we face during the project. I collaborated with designers and engineers at the BMW headquarters to design a UI system that married the old and the new ensuring that the design for the future was still familiar.
